Douglas College - Training Group is working hard to provide services to our clients while following the recommendations of health authorities during the COVID-19 outbreak. Our top priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and clients and therefore out of an abundance of caution, the vast majority of our programs are being delivered online. A few hybrid programs will be delivered online and in-person, and we will be following appropriate guidelines set out by the Provincial Health Officer. Please contact the appropriate program directly for further details and information.
The Training Group is a department of Douglas College that offers government-funded employment, training and language programs, as well as programs and services for employers. Training Group supports British Columbia residents in navigating the job market or bridging to academic opportunities.
Several options and resources are available if you are unemployed, underemployed or new to Canada. Our programs will help you gain new skills, access career support, connect with employers and ultimately find success in the workplace and community.
Each year, thousands of people participate in Training Group programs spanning six core areas:
- Employment Services and Career Development
- Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada
- Essential Skills
- Self-Employment Training
- Programs and Services for Employers
- Short Term Training
Our success is built on the principles of program delivery that is current, relevant and responds to the rapidly changing needs of our knowledge-based economy. Our work has received local, national and international awards, most recently:
