Admissions Requirements

The Management in Aviation Concentration is only available for students pursuing the BBA in Management. For this concentration, students can enter at two levels. Each level has: (a) unique declaration requirements, (b) varying levels of credit given for experience in the aviation field and (c) different program requirements.

All students wanting to pursue this concentration must first be admitted to the BBA Management program.

To declare into either Level 1 or Level 2 of the Aviation concentration, BBA Management students must submit a Program Declaration form to the Registrar’s Office along with:

  • Level 1: An International Civil Aviation Organization recognized Commercial Pilot License in Canada by Transport Canada.
  • Level 2: An International Civil Aviation Organization recognized Commercial Pilot License in Canada by Transport Canada with the additional ratings: Multi-Engine Rating, Group 1 Instrument Rating and Instructor Rating.
Curriculum Framework

LEVEL 1 - Concentration in Management in Aviation

  • This concentration is only available for students enrolled in the BBA Management program.
  • To obtain a BBA in Management, students admitted to the Management in Aviation Concentration (Level 1) must ensure that they take all other required courses included in the BBA Management program.
  • Students admitted into the Management in Aviation Concentration (Level 1) will receive 39 credits towards the BBA Management’s "open electives" requirements (24 lower level credits and 15 upper level credits) for their work experience and/or prior training.
  • A minimum of 12 upper level credits is required for this concentration.
  • Concentrations are not noted on the credential, but will be noted on the transcript.

Notes:

1. From the 21 credits required, a minimum of 12 credits must be at the upper-level. These upper level credits can be in either the CBA electives and/or the open elective categories.

2. For those students interested in receiving a finance- or management-related industry credential, the following Management Concentrations meet the training requirements for industry credentials.

3. Students interested in other areas, such as accounting, business law, computing studies, or economics, or in breadth in their studies can explore other courses and program offerings in Commerce and Business Administration in the Douglas College catalogue.

  • This concentration is only available for students enrolled in the BBA Management program.
  • To obtain a BBA in Management, students admitted to the Management in Aviation Concentration (Level 2) must ensure that they take all other required courses included in the BBA Management program.
  • For their work experience and/or prior training, students admitted into the Management in Aviation Concentration (Level 2) will receive:
    • 39 credits towards the BBA Management’s "open electives" requirements (24 lower level credits and 15 upper level credits) and
    • 9 lower-level credits of the 21 credits required for this concentration.
  • Concentrations are not noted on the credential, but will be noted on the transcript.

Notes:

1.
