Research at the College is facilitated by the Research and Innovation Office (RIO). RIO fosters pure and applied research at Douglas College. We support faculty in pursuit of their research goals in the context of a teaching-oriented institution. RIO connects faculty to research funding and students to research programs. Through strong partnerships with local groups, we take applied research to the community.
We collaborate with community groups, small and medium enterprises, and non-governmental organizations to link faculty and students to projects that demonstrate the value of their knowledge and skills.
Throughout the year, we conduct workshops on innovative research practices, methods, and applications, and organize events where community researchers share their latest developments.
If you have a project you want to talk to us about or represent an industry partner who might want to work with our students, please email us
